Visit to Finney House

I had the great fortune of recently visiting the Community Library and opening the ground floor suite at Finney House – a care home in Preston. Finney House is up for an award in the Care Home Awards for the ‘Best Use of a Communal Space’ for the library – which is open to the local community to loan books, meet new friends over a free cup of tea and enjoy a good book. It is a great way to combat loneliness amongst those over 65, and I will be highlighting their great idea with the Jo Cox Commission on Loneliness, which I co-chair.
