Changing Places Toilets allow individuals with spinal injuries, multiple sclerosis, and muscular dystrophy to safely and comfortably access the toilet. This £2m investment into over 100 NHS Hospitals will greatly increase the accessibility of Changing Places Toilets for many severely disabled people across the UK. A consultation will also follow to explore requirements for Changing Places in large public buildings.
Seema said: “I am pleased to see this progress being made for those individuals in our society who need special accommodations. Installing Changing Places Toilets in more Hospitals and exploring options to making Changing Places compulsory in other large public buildings will make a profound impact on the lives of many people.”
