The Environment Agency has announced a postponement of the notices on the pumping stations at Alt-Crossens. In September 2015 the Environment Agency had written to all affected land owners to give notice that from September 2017 they would no longer be responsible for maintenance of 5 pumps at Banks Marsh, Bounday Brook, Clay Brow, Kew and Rufford Causeway. They have now delayed this notice until December 2018.
I am very glad to see the notice be delayed. Constructive research and talks are underway and these need to be given time to find a solution to the maintenance of the pumps. I have been working on this issue since my election in 2015 and I will continue to press Ministers and relevant agencies to work together to find a way forwards on this issue.”
