Saturday 12th March is Disabled Access Day, and the charity Whizz-Kids is supporting it to encourage young disabled people to try new activities.
When I was a younger I spent my holidays volunteering with Stonyhurst Children’s Holiday Trust helping out special needs children. This taught me the value of enabling and encouraging everyone in society, no matter what their disposition is, to take hold of their basic right to a fun childhood. It is for this reason I wholly support Whizz-Kidz’s campaign for greater accessible transport options. We need to allow young disabled persons to make the most of opportunities available to all children, and this means making sure they can get on a bus to go to the movies, or have a trip to the museum.
So let’s all get on board!
